In an official announcement on July 31, SM Entertainment, the South Korean entertainment company, revealed that its latest boy band, RIIZE, will be making its debut this coming September. RIIZE will be the first boy group launched by SM in 7 years since NCT.
RIIZE, a seven-member boy band, is the latest venture from the esteemed entertainment conglomerate. The group's name, a blend of the words 'RISE' and "REALIZE," signifies their collective ambition to ascend and accomplish their dreams together. The band's music genre has been classified as 'emotional pop.'
SM Entertainment confirmed that RIIZE is comprised of seven extraordinarily talented members who possess not only exceptional skills but also compelling visuals. Each member brings unique attributes and strengths to the table, enhancing the group's overall dynamic. They are anticipated to embark on a new 'realtime odyssey' as a unified team, carving out a fresh chapter in the annals of music history.
RIIZE is SM Entertainment's first new group since the debut of aespa in 2020. As part of the build-up to their highly anticipated debut in September, RIIZE is set to launch an official Instagram account on August 1. The plan is to introduce each of the band's members to the world prior to their official debut.

NCT is a South Korean boy band formed and managed by SM Entertainment. Introduced in January 2016, the group currently consists of 20 members and divided acoss five different sub-units: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, and NCT DoJaeJung. Each sub-unit has members of different nationalities and diverse music styles. They are notable for their versatility in music, vocal and rap abilities, and powerful performances, and have been cited as K-pop's 'most experimental boy band' due to their concept of having limitless members. As of May 2023, NCT has recorded more than 28 million album sales across all sub-units, making them the best-selling act under SM Entertainment and one of the best-selling K-pop artists of all-time. It's understandable why fans are excited about the possibilities that new boy band RIIZE could unleash!
