Actor Mruga Umrania talks about the importance of doing substantial roles.

There are tons of talented beings who, over the years, working across varied fields and sectors around the world, have stunned people with the kind of work they have done so far in their endeavours in life. These individuals have showcased every quality and capability to take over their respective industries and, in the process, also motivate and inspire other budding talents in the same to be their best versions by giving it their all. So many such talented beings have reached the forefront of the entertainment world and have been making a massive name for themselves. “However, now is the time for actors to realize their potential and choose meaty roles that can help them portray characters capable of taking forward the story of a film,” says a rising model and actor herself named Mruga Umrania.

Mruga Umrania, who is famous for her music videos and her work with Indian production houses like Dharma Productions, is of the view that since the entertainment realm as a whole has only grown leaps and bounds over the years, and especially after the pandemic, with the rise of OTT platforms, unique projects have been in abundance. She states that it is thus essential for budding artists to look out for roles that can add more value to the storyline of the film and, in one way or the other, help their characters flourish in the same.

She is the one who recently acted in the film Liger, directed by Puri Jagannadh with South Superstar Vijay Deverakonda in the lead, apart from being a part of the film Manto, starring ace actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and directed by Nandita Das, which even went to the Cannes Film Festival and Sydney Film Festival and now available on Netflix. The BSC Biotechnology graduate, who also loves dancing, says that through these experiences of her in the industry, she has understood how it is essential for actors to continuously work toward bettering their craft as an artist and how they should strengthen their networking skills as well to get in touch with producers and directors that can offer them noteworthy roles or roles that can have some substance.

“Even with tinier roles, actors can shine brighter than the leads in a film; I believe because, in the end, it all depends on how you made the most of the opportunity and how well did you play that character on screen to appear believable for the audiences,” said Mruga Umrania (@mrugaumrania) on a parting shot.
