Nitin Gadkari sheds light on the three World Records made by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways at Agen

Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari graced the Agenda Aaj Tak 2021 with his presence and heartily participated in an interview while answering questions unflinchingly. Mr. Nitin Gadkari proudly announced that the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways achieved many milestones in the past few years by working tirelessly to conclude the project in the stipulated time frame. He informed about three world records made by the ministry in the road construction industry. The first record is the first country to construct 38 km of roads daily. The second world record is completing a four-lane highway stretching up to 2.5 kilometers in a day. The ministry made this record in Vadodara a few months back. The third record is constructing a one-lane road to bridge the gap between Solapur and Bijapur, which was completed in 22 hours’ time frame.

He said, " Good roads are pathways to the country's development. It generates a lot of employment and creates links between cities that did not exist earlier. Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has not dwindled from its aim by even the slightest bit and is working long hours to endure that the planned projects culminate in due time. Twenty-six green highways are in construction pan-India, and the Delhi to Srinagar highway project will set a precedent for future engineering teams. The infra binds are a step to raise funds from the citizens, who are eager to contribute to the betterment of the roads and highways of the country. A robust repayment system is put in place that will reward the funders with compelling interest rates on their investments."

Pointing to the lack of interest in electric vehicles, Mr. Nitin Gadkari said, " We, as a nation, import a staggering amount of petroleum annually, and the demand will multiply in the coming years. Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is trying to promote the electric vehicle culture in India by offering huge rebates to the buyers and manufacturing companies. Going green now is the only method to save the planet's future, and we are taking small but effective steps in this direction. When the reliance on petrol and diesel-powered vehicles decreases, India will truly embark on the path to a greener planet."
