Economic progress and infrastructure development go hand in hand. For any kind of economic growth to take place, the building of world-class, time-bound infrastructure is crucial.

Role Of Construction Technology In Achieving India’s Ambitious Gati Shakti Yojana

In India, there is a steady growth in infrastructure development and its returns owing to government investments in the infrastructure sector.

India’s aim to become a USD 5 trillion economy by 2025 largely depends on infrastructure development. For this, the Government of India is investing about USD 1.4 trillion during 2019-23 under initiatives like National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) and Gati Shakti Yojana. These initiatives are likely to facilitate the completion of projects throughout the country.

Gati Shakti Yojana enhances industrial and business infrastructure

Gati Shakti Yojana is a national master plan to develop multi-modal connectivity of economic zones and boost last-mile connectivity. It follows the National Infrastructure Pipeline in order to transform Indian infrastructure and logistics connectivity. The Gati Shakti Yojana is targeted to further economic growth and sustainable development through the building of roads, railways, airports, ports, mass transport, waterways, and logistics infrastructure. All these infrastructures would allow several industries to move their materials and goods efficiently while also saving time.

Construction technology boostsGati Shakti Yojana

India recently became the fifth largest major economy in the world, only behind the US, China, Japan and Germany, and is the fastest-growing economy in the world. In order to become an economic behemoth, the Indian government has set ambitious growth targets. India’s investment in infrastructure, such as roads, mining, housing, railways, and irrigation, through policies like National Infrastructure Pipeline and Gati Shakti Yojana, is a key to accelerating India’s economic growth. To enable this infrastructure growth, collaboration with the construction equipment would play a crucial role in realizing the aspirational infra-development goals, thereby strengthening India in achieving its economic goals.

The Indian construction equipment is a sunrise sector contributing significantly towards critical time-bound infrastructure development across the country. Whether it is a bridge, road or port, the heavy equipment sector is equipped with a plethora of world-class machinery. The stable growth in creating industrial and business infrastructure provides significant returns and contributes to economic growth.
