Popular Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria, who rose to fame after portraying former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the biopic Mujib: The Making of a Nation, was reportedly arrested at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport. If reports are to be believed, the actress has been apprehended in connection to an attempted murder case during severe protests against Sheikh Hasina that occurred in July 2024.

According to the Prothom Alo newspaper, the 31-year-old actress was arrested at the immigration checkpoint at the Dhaka airport while she was on her way to Thailand. The arrest warrant was issued after her name came up in connection with an attempted murder case dating back to 2024. Shafiqul Islam, the Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Badda Zone, confirmed the actress’s arrest to Prothom Alo.
