"'Milan Talkies' is not shelved...it is on hold. It ('Milan Talkies') will happen," sources close to the development from Balaji Telefilms said.
Actor Imran Khan opted out of "Milan Talkies" due to differences with producer Ekta Kapoor after the release of "Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara".
Then Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra were reportedly confirmed but that did not materialise, after which Varun Dhawan was cast. Then "Aashiqui 2" stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor were roped in for the project.
Later Aditya and Shraddha both dropped out of the project.
When asked why there is a constant change in casting, the source refused to comment on it.
Reportedly, the project was earlier scheduled to release in 2014 but got delayed.
Apart from this, Balaji Telefilms and Tigmanshu have teamed up for another film "Bhule Se Naam Na Lo Pyaar Ka", a love story. Apparently Imran Khan and Ekta Kapoor have patched up and things are moving ahead.
"The talks are still on with Imran," the source added.
