Tumbhi, a talent platform for photographers, writers, actors, models, singers, musicians and short filmmakers, had selected the scripts of "Shor" and "Sujata" through a competition in May last year and later converted them into movies.

"We are extremely pleased with this accomplishment. We launched Tumbhi with an aim to discover emerging artists and creative talent and provide them opportunities for recognition, collaboration and commerce. The success of 'Shor' and 'Sujata' is a strong testament of our vision," Robin Rastogi, head of operations, Tumbhi, said in a statement.

"The script writers were discovered through an online competition, the short films were made under the mentorship of Tumbhi advisor and ace film director, Anurag Kashyap and now the films are being appreciated worldwide. We congratulate all the artists involved in these two films," he added.

"Shor" tells the tale of a couple from Banaras, who is consumed by its pursuit to survive in the seedy ghettos of Mumbai city. The film portrays the struggle of a working class woman's endeavours.

"Sujata" is a 10-minute film about a girl who after years of running and failing to escape from her childhood tormentor, takes matters into her own hands when he hunts her down.u00a0
