Ram Gopal Varma insists that Big B is a part of his film Department's cast, recent controversies notwithstanding

Ram Gopal Varma has confirmed that Amitabh Bachchan will indeed be a part of his upcomingu00a0 project Department.

Speculations were rife that the senior actor would back out after RGV allegedly sent out SMSes that expressed his opinions on Abhishek Bachchan and his last release Dum Maaro Dum as reported 'Spoilsport'.

Thereafter, the news of Rana Daggubati replacing Abhi (Mid Day, April 23) also led people to believe that a fallout between the Bachchans and the director was imminent and that the Big B might follow his son out of the film as well.

The cast
Ramu maintains there is no fallout. "Mr Bachchan is doing Department. So far the finalised cast is AB Sr, Sanjay Dutt, Rana, Kangna Ranaut, Raveena Tandon and Abhimanyu Singh."

"If Company dealt with the politics of an underworld organisation, this deals with politics within the police world," reveals Ramu.

Bachchan Sr remained unavailable for comment but Dutt's manager Dharam Oberoi confirms, "Sanju is doing Department."
