While makers feared multiple snips for Aparshakti Khurana and Pranutan Bahl’s comedy about condom use, CBFC clears Helmet without cuts.

A still from Helmet
Having taken giant strides since its days of using shots of two flowers to depict sex, the Hindi film industry has gone on to tackle subjects of sperm donation, menstruation and in vitro fertilisation. However, the makers of Aparshakti Khurana and Pranutan Bahl-starrer Helmet, a comedy that delves into people’s hesitation to buy condoms, were apprehensive that the Central Board of Film Certification may call for one too many snips, owing to the movie’s subject. The team was in for a pleasant surprise when the Prasoon Joshi-led CBFC cleared it without any cuts.
