Aarya's raring to go

"Working with a Playboy cover girl is a hard job," says actor Aarya Babbar about his South African co-star Candice Boucher. A second later, he laughs uproariously realising what we could infer from the word 'hard'. Jokes apart, the six months or so have been eventful for Aarya who signed on seven films. He talks to
CS about his resurgent career

Veteran touch
I am working on films like Maximum, Afra Tafri, Mumbhai, Zilla Ghaziabad, Choron Ki Baarat and Yaar Annmule, a Punjabi film. What I am kicked about is sharing screen space with Naseerji in Maximum. I have grown up watching his plays, and he is an institution in himself. And Om Puriji, with whom I am working in Choron Ki Baarat, is like a family member. The best part of working with these senior actors is that they allow you to learn on your own. They don't impose their knowledge on you. In fact, Omji was so thrilled seeing one of my scenes that he couldn't contain himself with joy. Even talking with them is an educational experience.u00a0u00a0

A long wait
For three years I was sitting at home waiting for offers. My dad has been my biggest supporter in this period. He was always there to guide me. And then there were my mom and sister Juhi, two lovely women who always back me to the hilt. Today, I am doing varied roles in different genres like thriller, comedy, drama, etc. And I am enjoying every bit of this busy schedule. I love being in front of the camera, be it a positive or a negative role. There is joy in doing what you love. I can't ask for more.

Filmy bonds
Films are meant to entertain and I love masala movies. Mithun Chakraborty is one of my favourite actors. I can watch Kasam Paida Karnewale Ki anytime (laughs). Salman Khan is another mass actor I love. Though I have seen almost all the classics, I simply can't watch thought-provoking world cinema for hours. I love James Bond films. Gold Finger, Octopussy, Casino Royale and Living Daylight are my favourites.
