Web shows have lately been attracting mainstream talent, and the latest to hop on the bandwagon is Kai Po Che actor Amit Sadh.

Amit, whose Bollywood career got a boost after he featured in the Salman Khan-starrer Sultan, is set to feature in a web series, which is being backed by Vikram Malhotra's independent film studio, Abundantia Entertainment. This was the same production house that helmed Akshay Kumar's Baby and Airlift.

Sources close to the project reveal that Amit is among a few Bollywood names to have been approached for the drama series to be directed by Mayank Sharma (Assistant Director of 2013 thriller Table No. 21).

Amit is currently shooting for Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar 3 starring Amitabh Bachchan. "He loved the concept of the show and is looking forward to it since it is something he hasn't attempted earlier," added the source.

When we reached out to Amit, he said, "I am very excited to be doing this show for the web. It is an intense script, so I am kind of also hoping to get into that mould. Once I wrap up Sarkar 3, I will sit down with the director and writer to understand the character."

Producer Malhotra informed that final casting calls are being taken at the moment. "We are in the process of finalising the cast. The script is also currently in the final stages of development. So, it would be premature on my part to talk about it now," he signed off.
