Directed by Chandra Barot, 'Don' released in 1978 with Amitabh Bachchan playing double role. Written by Salim-Javed, the film also featured Zeenat Aman, Pran, Iftekhar, Helen and Om Shivpuri in pivotal roles.
A remake and sequel of the movie, starring Shah Rukh Khan as 'Don' were released on October 20, 2006 and December 23, 2011, respectively.
