Anuj Saxena was injured on the sets of Jagmohan Mundra's Chase while performing an action sequence on Thursday. The actor sustained injuries on his head and was administered 16 stitches.

The shoot for the thriller was on at Khoja Bungalow in Versova. Saxena, who is also the producer of Chase, was shooting for a fight scene with the cops tailing him.

Says a unit source, "Anuj was doing the stunts on his own instead of using a duplicate. For a close-up shot, he had to fall on a sofa. During the filming, some wooden prop hurt the back of his head which resulted in him profusely bleeding. Deepak Chopra, one of the staffers of his production house Maverick, rushed him to Dr Anantpal Singh's medical centre at Juhu Scheme."

Says Anuj, a doctor himself, "When I fell on the sofa, I felt something was amiss. Suddenly there was blood all over my head. I enjoy doing action sequences. We were shooting for an interesting scene which involved fist fights and the use of knives."

Back to shooting

On Friday, the actor was back at the shoot with a bandaged head. It is learnt that he had to complete his portions as it is the last schedule. With the stitches at the back side, near the neck, he could cover it up with his hair for the shoot.

Chase, which has Udita Goswami as his co-star, is slated to release by December.

Pehle bhi
In an earlier schedule of Chase, Anuj Saxena had hurt his thigh muscle badly and was bedridden for three days.
During his Kkusum soap days, he had fallen on an iron rod and had injured his leg. He had to take 20 stitches and was hospitalised for three days. The scar of the injury is still there.
