The promos of Ishqiya are out. Dressed in a blue jeans and a red checked shirt with heavy kajal laden eyes, actor Arshad Warsi looks every bit of a crook, like in the film.

But once he gets talking, he's very unlike the character. He discusses the film and his upcoming homeproduction Hum Tum Aur Ghost with CS:
Ishqiya kiya
Ishqiya is very earthy and real, and at the same time commercial and entertaining. I loved working on this film. Though people feel that I only enjoy doing comic roles, it is not so.
Even today, I get a lot of mails from my fans asking to me to do roles like those in Kabul Express and Seher.

Though I'm not playing a funnyman this time, my charcter is loaded with dark humour and you'll find it quite entertaining.
Sharing space with Naseerbhai
Naseer bhai (Naseeruddin Shah), Vidya (Balan) and I bonded very well during the making of Ishqiya.
This isn't the first time that I am doing a film with Naseer bhai. We did 'Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachao' earlier, but that was a forgettable film.

I share maximum screen space with him in Ishqiya and you have to see the chemistry between us to believe it. He's a senior actor, and I respect him a lot.

Producer perfect
Producing Hum Tum Aur Ghost was a wonderful experience. I felt that this was a good time to turn producer since I enjoy the movie making process.
But to be frank, I am a terrible businessman. The technical aspects have been handled by Studio 18. I have also written the script for this film.
Since, I have been an actor; I am well versed with the nitty-gritties of production work. But yes, I pampered my actors and technicians a lot.
Dia (Mirza) likes painting, so I arranged for many canvases for her in London, and I made sure that Boman (Irani) had his favourite drinks handy. I like to treat people in a special way.
What's so funny?
I enjoy films like Chashme Baddoor and Angoor where the humour is sensible. Though I have done a lot of slapstick comedy, I am not very fond of it.u00a0
I like script and character driven humour. Though Ishqiyan isn't a comedy film, it has some brilliant funny moments. I don't like forced humour.
