Singer Arijit Singh seems to be going through a lean patch lately. After allegedly losing a song in Salman Khan's 'Sultan' (Read More), he has been replaced in Ekta Kapoor's 'A Flying Jatt'. Arijit, we hear, was supposed to lend his voice to a promotional track in the Tiger Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer, but Pakistani artiste Atif Aslam eventually rendered it.

Says a source, "Sachin-Jigar, who have scored the music for A Flying Jatt, had initially roped in Arijit for a background song. However, the makers felt that his voice did not do justice to it, and requested for a replacement."

The music director duo then approached Atif. "The makers liked Atif's version and have given a thumbs-up to them. The singer has been paid close to Rs 35 lakh for the song, which will be unveiled a fortnight later. He has also sung a promotional track in the film; that will be out tomorrow," adds the source.

When we got in touch with Sachin-Jigar, they said: "This is a hoax. Arijit Singh hasn't sung any song for A Flying Jatt. He is a distinguished singer and we have done quite a few songs together for other films that shall be released soon."

On May 24, Arijit had posted a public apology to Salman for an 'insulting' remark apparently made at an awards show two years ago. In the long, dramatic message, he hinted at his version of Jagg Ghoomeya being removed from Sultan at the star's behest. The singer later pulled it down while those close to Salman dismissed it as an attention-seeking tactic.

Arijit did not respond to text messages.
