If you’re a high-end, brand-wearing, couture-loving fashionista who swears by her brands, fret not. “Summer fashion is casual and comfortable, one only needs to look for inspiration from the ramp and find similar fashion right under their noses on the streets at unbelievable prices,” says designer Sonia Mehra. We give you a lowdown of some of the hottest summer trends that we spotted in Tinsel town, and how to get a similar look in a much feasible price for a hot (albeit cheap) off-the-runway look.

Palazzos
Long, flowy and comfortable, palazzos are an ideal addition to your summer wardrobe. Take a cue from actress Anushka Sharma and go for a simple yet chic look.

“Incredibly comfortable, they can be casual or elegant. Wear floral prints in the day to achieve the former and a lovely white combined with a fitted shirt or summer corset and bright heels to achieve the latter,” says designer Sonu Dharnidharka.
How to wear: Palazzos by nature are extremely versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways.
>> Pair your palazzos with a simple white or black tee and add a statement necklace to jazz up the look.
>> If you want a slightly more feminine look, wear your palazzos with a lace top and stilettos.
>> For a more formal look, add a jacket or light blazer to your look with wedges or pumps. You’d be surprised how well the two blend.
>> For a casual, laidback look on the other hand, team your palazzos with a hat or a crop top. A funky, loose muscle tee is comfortable and trendy too.

Jumpsuits
The jumpsuit is proving to be quite a dominant trend in the markets. From denim rompers to floral onesies, they’re comfortable and stylish. A popular trend in the 70’s, jumpsuits have made quite a big comeback

How to wear: This is how you can wear a jumpsuit and make it work.
>> Layering a jumpsuit can jazz up your look quite a bit. Add a jacket on your jumpsuit and it’ll help break the monotony of your look.
>> Go all-black or all-white with heels for a party-ready look.
>> If your jumpsuit is printed, keep the accessorizing low and vice versa. Avoid cluttering the look.
>> Go for a jumpsuit that flatters your body.

>> If you want to go for a more minimalist look, add a single cuff or bracelet to your look.
>> Wear big, heavy jewelry with neutral, understated colours.

How to wear: This is how you can style your crop top.
>> Go for a high waisted look. A high waist skirt or pair of pants will only show a bit of skin.
>> Opt for a vivid shade of skirt or pants to balance out the look.

Chambray
Chambray or denim is possibly the most timeless trend as can be. Be it denim on denim, denim crop tops or denim shirts, the variety is diverse and won’t disappoint. Over the years several new and creative interpretations of wearing denims have also come about.

Headgear and hats
Hats can be a great summer accessory. Apart from giving you a chic, outdoor look, they combine functionality with style by keeping the heat at bay and also giving you a stylish look. “It can be tricky wearing head gear. Don’t make the look overpowering. Go for a western or indo-western look,” says designer Shilpa Reddy.

Kalki Koechilin

How to wear: This is how you can ensure that head accessories compliment your overall look.
>> Go for safe colours. Gold, bronze and silver blend well with outfits.
>> If your head accessory is too big, loosen a few stray strands of hair for a subtler look.
>> Keep the ensemble understated to avoid a cluttered, trying-too-hard look.
>> If the headgear is chunky, go for a solid, muted colour.

Feminine and flattering, it can give just the right shape to your silhouette, and depending on the fabric, can heavily beat the heat.

Shibani Dandekar
Shibani Dandekar’s off-shoulder dress can work well for both a formal evening or a red-carpet event.

How to wear: Here’s how you can wear a maxi skirt
>>  If you want to break the oh so girly look, add a slightly sporty looking top to your look, like a leather jacket or boots.
>> Crop tops and maxi skirts are old lovers. Wear the skirt higher around your waist to show just the right amount of skin.
>> Add a jacket to your maxi skirt for a formal look. If you want an official look, keep it simple.
