Bharat: Salman Khan's film to kick start shoot with a circus sequence

Salman Khan's next film Bharat, which is a period drama will commence its shoot on Sunday with a circus sequence. The film also features Priyanka Chopra and Disha Patani in lead roles. Bharat's team will begin shooting on an elaborate set in Mumbai’s Filmistan Studio and continue till August, after which they will move to Malta, followed by a schedule in Abu Dhabi.


Director Ali Abbas Zafar has been planning the shoot for months and will be starting with a detailed circus sequence set in the late ’60s. talking about it, Zafar said, "The idea is to create an Indian-Russian circus like Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker. Performers from all over the world are flying down for the circus tricks, which will be a mix of trapeze hoops and rope stunts. This is Salman and Disha's introduction. He plays a daredevil stunt motorcyclist in the circus while she is a trapeze artiste."


Salman Khan, who has recently returned from his Dabangg tour will now begin work on Bharat. The actor has begun the training for the shoot from Tuesday,  while Disha has been prepping up for a while now. Salman and Disha will also go through a metamorphosis through the course of the film. Ali Abbas Zafar further informed that prosthetics will take Salman back to his Karan Arjun days.


Divulging some more details about Bharat, Ali said, "We will be ending the Mumbai schedule with a Holi song featuring Priyanka and Salman. She joins the shoot in August and will have different looks in the film, which the team has been working on in great detail as the film travels from the 1960s to the present day."

Produced by Atul Agnihotri's Reel Life Production Pvt. Ltd and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, Bharat has an Eid 2019 release.
