Deol's gears up for flooding around his Juhu Scheme home

After Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's warnings about this year's flood situation especially on high tide days, Bobby Deol decided it was time to prepare himself for the monsoon. He is planning to buy a deflateable rubber boat.

The actor's home is at Juhu Scheme, which is the worst hit during the rains. Water logging is a perennial problem in the area. As his house is at a lower level than the road, it is always the first to get flooded. Even Yash Chopra's bungalow in the same lane faces a similar problem.

Nightmare

Says a source, "Bobby is extremely worried about his family. He will be busy shooting out of the country during that time. In 2005, his folks had to borrow a dinghy from their neighbours, as they were trapped in the bungalow which had become completely flooded. Even a few showers flood the area and coupled with high tide, it becomes a nightmare." Last year a lot of Bobby's expensive cars got ruined. Now he has decided to park at the Sunny Supersound studio whenever there are heavy rains.

Be prepared

Says a source close to Bobby, "This year after the warnings of heavy rains, he decided to take some precautionary actions and be prepared. He doesn't want to be caught unawares."

Juhu Scheme, which is home to several B-Town folk including the Big B is always the worst affected during heavy rains. The 26/7 floods had caused extensive damage to property and cars. Last year, the Juhu Scheme Residents Association along with the support of several film folk had urged upon the government to find a solution to control the situation.

Safe height
When Ajay Devgan bought the property opposite Bobby Deol's home, he constructed his house at a height. As the lane is low-lying, it gets flooded soon. Last year, Devgan had been vocal about the grievances of the residents urging the authorities to take action to prevent flooding in the area.
