Lalit Modi has given the nod to Percept Picture Company to make a film on his life
Lalit Modi has given the nod to Percept Picture Company to make a film on his life. The film titled The Commissioner will be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.
A few days back, PPC head Shailendra Singh and Modi had a closed door meeting where the latter gave a formal consent for the project.
Singh says, "This is a very exciting development for us. To have access and an opportunity to bring the life of this extraordinary man on screen is an asset. He's not just a champion but a true survivor who has weathered against the odds to stand where he is today."
A tale of endurance
Saying that it will be a no-holds- barred depiction of Modi's life, he adds, "It's largely autobiographical in nature there are elements of fiction as well. It's a rag-to-riches story of a man who created the cricket empire called IPL. Right from his school days to the time he spent in a hostel, he's gone through a really rough time. We will capture all that right to the present day in the movie."
Madhur will also meet Modi and will be spending time with him, listening to his personal stories. "We are in the process of putting down the script. Once that happens, we will begin casting," Singh concludes.
