Gurinder Chadha's new movie It's A Wonderful Afterlife has a wedding in the climax. Since Gurinder wanted to make the sequence look as real as possible, she actually replicated her own wedding. She sent invitation cards to her relatives so they could participate in the shoot. She even got an authentic priest to conduct the 'wedding'. She lent her wedding outfit to the lead actress Goldy Notay to wear for the wedding sequence.

It's A Wonderful Afterlife tells the story of Mrs Sethi (Shabana Azmi) who wants to get her daughter Roopi (Goldy) married. It took Gurinder and her husband 2.5 years to complete the script. The film releases on May 7 in India.
