AR Rahman recommended singer-composer Suchismita within 30 seconds of hearing her vocals in a hotel elevator in the US.

This resulted in her Hollywood debut as singer-composer in 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold' and its sequel 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'. "When Rahman Sir asked me if I would travel to LA, I replied that I would travel anywhere in this planet at his word," says Suchismita who in her excitement, forgot to take his contact details.
"In my heart, I knew, I would get a call." Rahman got his team to connect with her within seven months and she went to Hollywood to record seven tracks for 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hote'l while the tracks for 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' were recorded at the well-known Abbey Road Studio.
This was followed by the Tagore poem Jagao Mere Des Ko which Rahman transformed into a song for Coke Studio where he chose Suchismita for a duet with him.
