A thousand watt smile and her diamond solitaire earrings -- Ira Dubey knows just how to bedazzle you
A thousand watt smile and her diamond solitaire earrings -- Ira Dubey knows just how to bedazzle you. The actor talks to CS about her love for jewellery:
Style statement
I love statement pieces, especially chunky necklaces and cocktail rings. If I'm wearing a simple dress, I'll probably opt for one statement neckpiece, but if my outfit is printed and distracting, I'll go for simple earrings. I love teaming Indian wear with ethnic earrings. I've got thick, long hair, so earrings usually add a little drama to my look.
Mum's the word
My favourite piece of jewellery is this cocktail ring that actually belongs to my mother. It was once lying on the dressing table when I noticed it and begged her to give it to me. It's very special to me because mom bought it with her first salary. Then there's this beautiful pearl necklace that I also love. It's a vintage piece with a gorgeous cut diamond for a pendant. This again belonged to my mom and I convinced her to give it to me and not my sister (laughs). But yes, I do have a fetish for Maharani necklaces and cocktail rings.
Stone age
I never step out of the house sans jewellery. My diamond solitaires are always in my ears along with a silver emerald ring, which is supposed to be a rashi ring. I didn't want to wear a boring rashi ring so I designed this one myself and I can't tell you the number of compliments that I've received for it. I also wear another ring that has three rows of diamonds in it. I would love to buy more jewellery, but I'm going a little slow on the spending right now. Maybe, it would be a better idea to have someone gift me jewellery, what say?
