It's time to get real!

Reality is the new favourite with Bollywood. And for reasons unknown even to her, Mahie Gill seems to be many-a-director's choice. The actor, who is gearing up to essay the character of Maria Susairaj (infamous for the Neeraj Grover case) and Arundhati Roy in a film based on the Pink Chaddi campaign, says that it's highly flattering to be taken seriously as an actor. She talks to CS about people she would like to play:

1 Indira Gandhi: I really like her. She carried herself with a lot of dignity and grace and spoke with confidence and intelligence. What a lady she must have been to have led a country like India, at a time when women were not even allowed to step out.u00a0u00a0

2 Lady Diana: She always thought with her heart and we all know what a spectacular beauty she was. I cried when she died. I just adored her and I was her biggest fan. She was such a charmer.

3 Bandit queen: I am just curious to play this one. I have seen the earlier film and I always wonder how much a person can take. I would like to portray the vulnerable side of her.

4 Jhansi ki Rani: Apart from the fact that I will get to live a historical character, playing Jhansi ki Rani will also ensure that I get to ride a horse and learn sword fighting. It will be a very adventurous experience.

5 Rekha: She is a magnificent women and an awesome performer. She was splendid in Umrao Jaan ufffd she was the epitome of grace and beauty. Playing Rekhaji in any of her characters or herself would be nothing short of an honour.
