Significantly distanced from Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar's statement that she would return to educating herself following her win last month, Mr India, Jitesh Singh Deo says he harbours a different dream. "I want to make a mark in Bollywood," he tells mid-day, days after he bagged the title. "[I will not study further] because I know what it is that I need to do. I'm working on my passion, which is acting. From this minute, this second in fact, I will work on my passion."

A sense of tactlessness is seamlessly overshadowed by innocence when the model, 22, says he doesn't know if offers have come his way. "I haven't checked my mail," he reasons, adding, "I'm busy with the goings-on after the victory. Hopefully, I'll start getting some work. I'm waiting for it." Having been part of television actor Shweta Tiwari's acting classes for a month, Singh reveals he has a series of short films to his credit. "I had also completed filming for a small production. But the project has been put on the backburner."
Among the filmmakers that Singh hopes to collaborate with are Imtiaz Ali and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. A special mention is also made for Neeraj Pandey. "I love his creations." While the model has heaped praise on Shah Rukh Khan for being an "inspiration for the last 30 years", he is also an admirer of Hrithik Roshan. "I look up to him for his body language and the way he carries himself."
