The Movies I Loved Growing Up
The actress picks her five flicks...

THE Sound of Music: Childhood is a time where people have the most memorable experiences and there are some memories that one wants to cherish forever. For me, it is watching The Sound of Music. I remember sitting with my father and enjoying it as we loved watching musicals. I was so overwhelmed after watching the film that later I watched the original Broadway production. Besides being a great movie, watching it with my dad was an icing on the cake.

Jaagte Raho: This is one movie I never thought I would watch but I'm glad I did. When I was in school one weekend I was sitting with my grandfather and he was waiting for this movie to start. He made me promise that I will sit with him for the entire film and it was worth the time. The legendary Raj Kapoor has brilliantly played his character and it is so heart felt. I suggest everyone watch this movie at least once it is timeless.u00a0

Andaaz Apna Apna: This movie is a laugh riot from the start till the end. I remember watching it with my college friends and we laughed so much that our stomach hurt by the end of it. Aamir and Salman's comic timing is simply outstanding and it's the perfect movie to make a dull day bright!

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: This is one movie I can watch a million times and never get tired of it. It's a complete Bollywood movie with a simple, yet dramatic love story. It makes one want to fall in love all over again. Shah Rukh and Kajol's chemistry is something.u00a0

A Walk to Remember: This movie is based on a romance novel by Nicholas Sparks. Mandy Moore is especially good as the straight-laced preacher's daughter. And I liked how they showed the transformation of Shane West's character. It was very believable. Of course, the ending leaves you teary eyed. It's sad, but one gets to witness a sort of miracle as the film puts it of how a wayward teen turns his life around. The music was great too.
