Lose weight without losing it

She hardly looks like the mother of two. Model Aditi Govitrikar who seems to be looking thinner every time we see her, says that she doesn't owe her svelte figure to dieting. In fact she doesn't believe in the phenomenon at all. She tells you how you can fight the battle of the bulge:

Quite bites
I don't go on these crazy crash diets because I know that it is impossible to sustain them. Having said that, I watch what I eat. For all you moms out there, I suggest you do the same. For starters, you need to have a strong will if you want to lose weight. I know a lot of people who keep saying that they're following elaborate diets and working out, but I notice them munching every now and then. It isn't just about finding the right dietician. It's about being organised, disciplined and patient.

Mind game
It's important to change your mindset if you want to get rid of those tyres around your waist. Start telling yourself that you will lose say five kgs in three months and believe that you will. List out everything that you eat, and study your food intake, like you would study a book. When you review it, you'll know what food items you can cut down on. You'll also know when you've overeaten and probably go slow the next day. If you go out for dinner, you don't have take on the responsibility of finishing all your food or dessert. Even one or two spoonfuls of dessert should be good enough. And stay light years away from comfort food.

Work it out
Moderate exercise is a must for all women. If you can't hit the gym or practise yoga, take the stairs home or at work, instead of instinctively heading towards the lift. The exercise works wonders in fighting the 'child bearing hips' as we call them. Walking short distances instead of hopping onto rickshaws or cabs is also a good idea. Doing cardio thrice a week is certainly going to help.
