After Jugaad, Manoj Bajpai will be next seen in Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail. Manoj opted out from David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook, which incidentally is also based on a prisoner's life.
A source from the unit reveals, "Manoj Bajpai plays an underworld don in Madhur's Jail. He will be seen playing Neil Nitin's buddy in prison.
The Satya actor opted for Madhur's movie since it is a very serious, intense role. Hook Ya Crook was a comedy and the role wasn't appealing anyway.
He burnt his hands with Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, which was a complete dud at the box office. Manoj always wished to work with Madhur as he always wanted to be part of realistic cinema."
Fitted the bill
A source close to Madhur reveals, "Madhur has seen Bajpai's previous work right from Satya to Zubeidaa and had spoken to each other about working together.
Madhur was looking out for an actor to play a gangster. Manoj suited the role. He plays an incarcerated gangster who helps Neil during his internment."
A source close to Manoj says, "Manoj liked the script but last-minute formalities remain. He is excited to work with Madhur. He had to opt out of David Dhawan's Hook Ya Crook due to date clashes with Rajniti."
