Akshay Kumar's film Padman and Neeraj Pandey's film Aiyaari will be clashing at the box-office on 26th January 2018, which also happens to be the Republic Day. Neeraj Pandey and Akshay Kumar are very close friends. Both have worked together on projects such as Baby, Special 26, Naam Shabana, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, yet both will be at loggerheads on 26th January, as their highly awaited projects are clashing. Neeraj Pandey says," It isn't the first time that a film is colliding with other film in Bollywood. These things keep happening in film industry, films keep clashing at the box-office.
Sidharth Malhotra also has a good relation with Akshay Kumar. Both consider each other as brothers In such a situation, Sidharth Malhotra also believes that it is a good thing that he and Akki are able to release their films Both of the movies are on different topics and would be successful as they cater to different audiences. It is a National holiday and these are two different types of movies. So I think that the audience will take the time to see both of them. It is good that movies on such varied subjects are releasing on the same day."
Neeraj Pandey further added, "It was already decided that Aiyaary was releasing on January 26. We always wanted to bring Aiyaary on this day. And so we are coming this day. Neeraj also added that he had lunch with Akshay and R Balki few days back and that there was no bad blood between them.
Neeraj Pandey was also asked about the new diktat of CBFC wanting 68 days to certify a film. He said that currently he is only concentrating on post-production of his film and that only his production team will be able to talk about it.
