Famous for songs like Bhula Do and Waada, the three-member band will be composing a song for the film directed by Rakesh Ranjan Kumar and starring Delhi boy Imran Zahid.

The Sufi rock band came out with their first album in 2006 and there has been no looking back ever since. Raeth has also opened for international artistes like Akon, Akcent and has performed across India in various shows.

Band members Wajhi Farouqui, Hassan Farabi and Sunny Ghansham are all pepped up about foraying into Bollywood. "We are really excited about entering Bollywood through a project like Marksheet. Making music for us is a collective effort. Often you find that only playback is given importance even when a band is taken aboard. But the makers of the film are not limiting our capability and have given us a chance to perform together with our original sound which is a welcome step for musicians," said Sunny, the group's guitarist.

"Also, we have a huge following in India but films increase your spectrum and take you to a much larger base," he added. "While studying a college in Delhi, I witnessed the roaring popularity of bands amongst the youth. Now since I'm making a movie which revolves around the campus, I would like to pay a tribute to my alma mater by roping in Raeth," said director Rakesh Ranjan Kumar.

The song by Raeth will be shot in Delhi University, with students of the campus. While 'Marksheet' treads on the serious issue of education scams in the country, it is set to be a mainstream movie with all elements of a commercial Bollywood flick and will be made under the creative guidance of Mahesh Bhatt.
