Ashutosh Gowariker seems to be as fascinated and elated with historical sagas and period dramas as Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Lagaan and Jodha Akbar are two very fine examples. He now gears up for Panipat, starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon. Given this is a sweeping saga where every frame is filled with grit and grandeur; there are other crucial characters too.

No war film can be complete without a dependable ensemble and Panipat seems to follow the same. We have already seen the characters of the principal characters and also how they wage war as shown in the trailer. It's now time to meet Nana Saheb Peshwa, played by Mohnish Bahl, who nails the part, at least the first look suggests so.
Kriti Sanon took to her Instagram account to share his look and described the character as a king who is governed by the blood running through his veins. Take a look right here:
He was better known as Balaji Baji Rao and had seen a tremendous amount of failure during his tenure. The historical saga is based on the third battle of Panipat that unfolded in 1761. What followed was the battle between greed and pride, conceit and righteousness. It's an ambitiously mounted drama and both Gowariker and Kapoor have a massive opportunity to deliver the success they deserve.
Panipat unfolds on the celluloid on December 6, and clashes at the box-office with Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday's Pati Patni Aur Woh. On one hand, we have a gritty period drama, and on the other hand a farcical entertainer. Which one would you opt for?
