The actress spends birthday with four of her close friends at a Maldives resort
Preity Zinta celebrated her birthday (January 31) with close friends.
The spa and resort is characterised by it's remoteness and its No-News-No-Shoes theme which means the spa members stay barefoot during the entirety of their stay there.
Says a source, "Accompanied by four friends, Preity went to the Soneva Fushi spa on the morning of January 30.
That afternoon, she visited the spa for a head massage and facial and then had an Italian-style dinner and was served a special sticky chocolate cake ahead of her birthday.
She was to return on February 2 but loved her experience so much that she extended her stay by a couple of days.
PZ had booked a beachfront duplex villa with a swimming pool for her and her friends and herself stayed at the two-bedroom Crusoe Suite in the villa."
The source adds that the actress went scuba diving in the house reef almost everyday. "On her birthday, she had a special vegetarian dinner at Fresh In The Garden.
She loved the concept and the food, where lunch is served from organic-grown island produce, Maldivian seafood, fruit and vegetables.
For dessert, Preity was served a special walnut sponge cake she had specifically requested for. She later told the chef that "the birthday dinner was perfect'."
The next day she went for a cocktail party on the Sand Bank (on the beach), which was for all guests of the resort. Special Lebanese food, with lots of candles, gave off a warm glow.
PZ stayed on the sandbank till midnight. The source says that another reason Preity extended her stay was because of the heavy rains on the island as she couldn't go out as much as she wanted to."
KV Modi of the parent company that owns the spa, says, "Preity is one of our favourite guests and we are thrilled that she chose to spend her birthday at our resort."
