Designer Rohit Kamra hailing from Rajasthan revisited his roots, when he formed a non-profit organisation Woven Gold in 2008 to promote Handloom, Khadi and Village Crafts of India.
He will now showcase his The Urban Tribe collection to promote the same. The line will offer new summer shades of faded white, earthy beige, alloy grey, emerald green, tidal blue, rustic
red highlighted with threads and
metallic shreds.

Daniel Syiem knew that the fashion world was his destination when he realised his true vocation — fashion. The 23-year-old, who focuses on promoting organic and ethnic material exclusive to the North-East region of India has collaborated with the weavers of Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya, and is aiming to portray Shillong on the fashion map of India through his debut show.u00a0
The designer’s collection is titled, Ryndia and has been developed with 100% organic fabric right from the yarn stage in order to manipulate its properties.
“I will be showcasing a lot of shift dresses, long flowy gowns, trousers and shirts among other things. My designs are totally inspired by my culture and my people and I want to promote that,” says the Shillong-based designer.
