Ram Gopal Varma has finally managed to get the rights of the song Hoja Rangeela Re from his 1995 film Rangeela and is going to re-shoot a darker version of it with Mahie Gill, the lead actress of his next film Not A Love Story.

As reported 'Out of tune'u00a0Ramu was keen to have this song in the film as it went perfectly with the plot of the crime thriller based on the life of aspiring actress and alleged killer Maria Susairaj.

However, he wasn't yet successful in obtaining the legal rights of this song composed by musician A R Rahman.

However, RGV has now confirmed that he has finally got the rights to the track. He paid Tips about R Eight lakh for the song.

In his movie NALS, a more sinister version of this song has been already shot with Mahie, who is portraying the role of Susairaj.

Sinister interpretation
A source from the crew informs, "The song has come out very well. While the original song shot on Urmila Matondkar was very upbeat and lively this one is a darker version. And has a haunting feel to it."

The original song was written by Mehboob and sung by Asha Bhosle.

"While the lyrics and tune of the original song have been retained, it has been re-rendered by a new singer Tarannum and rearranged by Amar Mohile, who has composed music for many earlier films of Ramu including Sarkar," the source further adds.

Mohile confirms, "The original was a very peppy track. This one is a very slow and sad version. The character wants to become very famous but ends up in jail.

There is no rhythm in the song initially but it ends on a crescendo. The melody is the same but the arrangement, orchestration and the sound designing is just opposite."

Ramu says, "It's being used as a background track and it's not going to be shot in lip sync."
