The "Masaan" actress, however, said she does not mind being deprived of fashionable roles as the kind of characters she plays and movies she gets, make up for it.

"The kind of films that I do... they don't really have the budget for the actress to wear designer clothes. I think that is because it's mostly very relatable, real-life roles. If I wear a designer outfit in a film like 'Masaan' then it would look wrong. The script determines the costumes. At least that is how I like to work," Richa told PTI in an interview.

"I want to do good films. It is not that I have any problem doing commercial roles, with all the glitter. I am doing 'Cabaret'. It is very glamourous," she said.

Richa is basking in the success of her latest film "Masaan", which has been getting rave reviews by the critics and the audiences alike. The actress said she was most touched by the compliments she has been receiving from fellow Bollywood actresses.

"Kangana (Ranaut), Kalki (Koechlin), Radhika (Apte), Nimrat (Kaur), who are my friends have been congratulating.

Even Sonam Kapoor, Parineeti (Chopra), Deepika (Padukone), Shilpa Shetty, who do not know me are reaching out to me. Even Shabana Azmi. It is a great feeling when your fraternity appreciates you," said Richa, who graced the fashion ramp in the Capital last night.

The Neeraj Ghaywan-directed film, which premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival, won two awards-- FIPRESCI, International Jury of Film Critics prize and Promising Future prize in the Un Certain Regard section.

The actress said from the moment she watched the film at Cannes, she knew it would be appreciated all over.

"I knew that the film will do well because it has a human connect. I am proud to be a part of such kind of cinema."

Richa has currently three films lined up for release- "Aur Devdas", "Main Aur Charles" and "Cabaret". She said as an actress she constantly wants to keep the audience on their toes by choosing different kinds of films.

"I feel grateful that I get the opportunity to play real characters on-screen because such roles are very difficult to come by. I would love to do good characters. It is always my priority to give the audience my best," she said.
