The last time Sanjay Dutt faced the camera was in May, 2013, for Rajkumar Hirani's PK. Almost four years later, when the star walked in to shoot at Agra's Tajganj area for his comeback film, Bhoomi, he was greeted with rapturous applause.

A unit hand says, "People were visibly overwhelmed when he walked in. His charisma and enthusiasm is still infectious. He was the first one to walk in today at 9.30 am. So, everyone who said he can't be punctual can eat their words." Dressed in kurta pyjama, Dutt then headed for the mahurat pooja.

"At 10 am, he gave his first shot. It was a lengthy scene, which was cleared in the second take. The real fun began at 12.30 pm, during lunch break. Unlike young actors, who dig into healthy dabbas inside their vanity vans, he sat down with everyone.

Though on a strict diet, he had set ka khaana and cracked jokes. Meanwhile, a huge crowd had gathered outside his van and before resuming work, he went and hugged his fans.
