Shadow - Review

More than a movie, Shadow is a platform for lead actor Nasser Khan to showcase his talents to the audience. Despite being blind, Khan's efforts to act, dance and perform action scenes are laudable.

Unfortunately, that's all there is to Shadow a story of Arjun Sherawat (Khan), a mysterious murder suspect and his efforts to prove his innocence. Supporting him are Sonali Kulkarni and Hrishitaa Bhatt who play a police inspector and a reporter respectively.

After meeting a freak accident, Arjun is presumed dead only to return and threaten to kidnap a popular builder. Throughout the film, Arjun moves through characters like a shadow lurking behind them, while the press and cops stage various efforts to nab him.u00a0

What's hot: The treatment and screenplay has an '80s feel and charm to it. Remember the days of running down slopes, with 100 extras in colorful outfits dancing in the background? Well, Shadow takes us back to that time. Nasser Khan deserves a pat on his back for the action scenes.u00a0

What's not: Shadow's weakest link is its script and cast. Sonali and Nasser have zero chemistry. Similarly, Hrishitaa Bhatt and Milind Soman don't have much to do.

The plot drags in the second half and even though there is an effort to create suspense and intrigue, it falls flat due to weak execution. The songs by Anand Raaj Anand do nothing but create annoying distractions. The dialogues are totally outdated and make you laugh in places it shouldn't.u00a0

What to do : Shadow is proof that if there's a will then anyone can make a movie, whatever the challenges maybe, but as an entertainer, the film fails on all counts.
