"I'm safe. A big thank you to all who helped. Pls msg if you have anyone still stuck in Kashmir, I'll be happy to update and help," Batra posted on Twitter.
"The situation is daunting but it is reassuring to see #TheIndianArmy doing such a stupendous job of rescuing people," he added.
If reports are to be believed, the 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' director is said to have been there to attend a friend's sister's wedding. He was due to return to Mumbai Tuesday, but the state's worst flood in six decades forced him to change his plan.
The toll in the floods has already reached 215.
Batra, on his part, shared the control room numbers for help and assistance in Jammu and Kashmir for his Twitter followers.
He also said: "I have a friend who is contactable at Wazirabagh. Pls let me know if you have any specific locations that need help."
