What is the film about?
Sidharth: The film has a love angle but it is mainly about how several characters with grey shades come together. It talks about how love makes a person choose a wrong path. It has all the ingredients: great music, pain and angst. The story is based in Goa and Mumbai.
Shraddha: Often, just when you think that everything, including your love life, is going perfect, the whole thing changes on its head. But that’s life.
Tell us about the characters you are playing in the film...
Sidharth: It’s the first time I am playing a negative character. I am more aggressive here and there are no light moments to speak of, especially when compared to my earlier roles. My character is always quiet and intense.
Shraddha: I play a character that is completely the opposite of my role in Aashiqui 2. There is a back-story to my character; every element has a reason behind it. The dialogues I mouth in just the first half far exceed the dialogues in all my other films put together. I finally got to sing in this film and when I performed live with Ankit Tiwari, it was so much fun. I didn’t expect to receive such an overwhelming response.
What was it like to work with each other?
Sidharth: I was a little apprehensive when I met her because her character is very bubbly and a little mad in the film, but then I realised that she is closer to this character than her role in Aashiqui 2. So yeah, she is not as quiet and serious as you think. What’s great about her is that she is very sporting, not to mention a lot of fun.
Shraddha: It was great working with him; he is one of the healthiest people I have ever met. He is very particular about what he eats and he will go to the gym even at the end of the day. I would try to copy everything he’d do on the sets. He would order healthy food, so I did the same or else I’d have gorged on jalebi and gulab jamun during the shoot. I have now started eating healthy because of him.
