After her thanda debut flick Luck, Shruti Haasan disappeared from the B-Town scene. The singer-actress is now back and will be performing at a films awards gala for the first time.

Kamal Haasan's daughter gets jiggy for the Sabsey Favourite Kaun awards at a suburban hotel tonight.
While rehearsing for the Star Gold event she says, "I have performed as a singer in front of a live audience. But dancing is something new. I don't want to rate myself on how well I can do it but I try and improve with every step."

The singer-actress will be performing to a medley of her tracks from Luck like Aazma Luck, Kudhaya Ve and Jeele. She will also be singing the title track. "Designer Binal Shah is styling me for the nite and I am looking forward to the experience of a live dance act."

At the moment, the star daughter is shooting for a Telugu film Unnaipol Oruvan. "I am looking at some Hindi scripts," says Shruti who has composed the music for her father's Tamil remake of A Wednesday. "I am also in the process of rebuilding my band. It will be totally new with a brand new name."

Shruti plans to spend more time in Mumbai now but is squeezing in a short vacation to Los Angeles to bring in the New Year. "Everyone I know is traveling, so I am off too. Once I am back it will be work and more work."
