Shruti and Akshara Haasan are by Sarika's side after her accident

Shruti and Akshara Haasan are said to be keeping vigil at Sarika's bedside after she met with an accident and fractured her hand last week

If sources are to be believed, Haasan sisters Shruti and Akshara are taking turns to be by mom Sarika’s side after she met with an accident last week. The veteran actress was out for an evening jog near her Bandra house when an auto rickshaw suddenly swerved from its lane and hit her from behind. She has fractured her hand and has been advised monthlong bed rest.

Says a source, "As the auto rickshaw hit her, she fell on the road. She missed its number plate and so there has been no police complaint regarding the accident. Her hand is now in a cast and she will be confined to bed for at least two to three more weeks."

Now that she won't be able to move out of home for quite some time now, one of her two daughters is always by her bedside to comfort her, states the source, adding: "Shruti has not been able to spend much time with her as she was busy promoting Gabbar Is Back. But Akshara, who does not have any projects in hand at the moment, keeps her company for the better part of the day."

Sarika’s accident, however, has not affected any film shoots. "She was only prepping for a few films, so none of the shoots had to be cancelled," adds the source.

Sarika refused to comment on the story.
