What's it about:u00a0

A shirtless injured man lying helpless in a barren desert. We don't know who he is, how he got there, or what he would do next. All we can do is wait for him to make a move and follow the camera. Soch Lo's opening frame catches your attention instantly with its unique beginning. With time we are told the man is an ex-army officer with a troubled past. After bumping into three strangers on the highway, out of which one (Barkha Madan) agrees to help him, the plot's wheels are set in motion. The anonymous man realises he was a married a few days back, and his bride Riva (Iris) was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend (Nishan). Their arranged marriage was against the girl's will who grapples to for closure after her recent break up. How this man (whose name is subtly revealed in the climax) goes on a quest to win his lawfully wedded wife back - facing the biggest hurdles of his life in the process - is what Soch Lo is all about.u00a0u00a0

What's hot:
Sartaj Singh Pannu leads a one-man army as he writes, acts and directs the film. Despite the burden, there is no sign of pressure as he plays the challenging role of a man without an identity with utmost ease. He uses his body language, mannerisms and expressions to create a man with no identity, gets your attention from the very first frame and manages to hold it till the end.u00a0 Despite being a semi-thriller, the film has romance as its core: the husband who goes against all odds to win back his wife; the wife's dilemma of whether she should choose the man she married or the one who broke her heart; and the ex-boyfriend who desperately hopes to revive his shattered relationship. The climax plays out skillfully between the trio, leading to an unpredictable end. Sandeep Patil's camera work is brilliant; the soundtrack with the opening track 'mera yahan hai kaun' is hauntingly raw and mesmerising.u00a0

What's not:
Despite a stellar start, the plot stagnates in the middle. It does pick up in the end. Iris, who plays Riva, looks pale in contrast to Sartaj's hard-hitting character. The sequence which leads to flashback where the past is revealed, seems forced. Dialogues are sketchy and weak, especially the interaction between Riva and her ex-boyfriend who's keeping her hostage. Those wanting a close-ended finish will be disappointed, as the climax will leave you scratching your brain.u00a0

What to do:
Soch Lo is an honest effort. It's makers have taken the risk to be truly different and need to be applauded.u00a0
