Following his meeting with Punjab CM, Sonu Sood to participate in campaign personally

Amidst news of Sonu Sood meeting Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh in a bid to tackle the drug menace in the state comes reports that the actor is also set to meet a few addicts. Sood has been actively fighting to curb the increasing drug abuse prevalent in the state via an anti-drug campaign.

A source tells mid-day, "Sonu has been working for the campaign with the help of several top government officials and cops. When he has some time off from work, he even visits Punjab to assist people working on the campaign. He will also meet a few drug addicts to make them aware about the hazardous effects of its consumption. In these meetings, Sonu will advocate ways of maintaining a healthy lifestyle."

Sood, the source said, appreciated the state government efforts towards eradicating drugs and sought help on matters pertaining to healthcare supplies required in the town, during his meeting with Singh. The actor tells mid-day, "The anti-drug campaign is a mission to make Punjab a drug free state. It was an honour to meet Captain Amarinder Singh. He has been a great force in championing the cause. After Punjab, we will travel to different states to promote the cause."
