Actor-turned-director Aamir Bashir, who recently made his debut as a director, has hardly been seen in films off late.
When CS put across the question to him, he confessed how he wanted to be the next Naseeruddin Shah when he entered B-Town but things didn’t go as planned. He had played a cop alongside his idol Naseersaab in A Wednesday back in 2008.

Unfortunately, that made a stereotype out of his career and he was repeatedly offered to play policemen by several filmmakers. To avoid falling into the typecasting trap, he didn’t sign up for many films.
“What’s the point in essaying the same character? It’s better to say no and try to do something different,” says Aamir.
