Actor Vineet Kumar Singh, who made his mark as Danish Khan from Gangs of Wasseypur, earned critical acclaim for his role and rightly so, is playing a crucial part in Reema Kagti's upcoming film, Gold. After 18 years of struggle in the film industry, ask him if he's happy with the way his career has shaped, he says, "I'm very happy. I look at things with a very positive approach. In the entire day, one good thing that has happened to me, I keep that to myself and move ahead. If you concentrate on the other negative things, you will never grow. Had I not followed this mantra, I wouldn't have been able to struggle for these eighteen years."

Content that he has shared enough screen space with Akshay Kumar in the film, he asserts, "There are many scenes of mine with Akshay sir, so I really enjoyed playing Imtiaz Shah's character and has been a great experience."

"My experience of working on this film has been very great. It's a special film for me because I haven't ever done such a film. I always wanted to work with Reema Kagti and this was that opportunity for me. Also, this was my first ever chance to work with Akshay Kumar sir," exclaims the Mukkabaaz actor.

Amongst all the actors Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Sunny Kaushal, Vineet is the only one, who already knew to play hockey. "I have played hockey during my childhood. Almost 12 international players' would play hockey there and that helped me a lot. I would initially play basket ball but weekly the players would get shuffled to play hockey and basketball. Then there was a phase where I only played hockey for a really long time. That's what helped me in this film," narrated the actor.

How did he get the film? "I was called by casting director Nandini Srikant, she took my audition and Reema loved my audition. When I read the script, the thought that was going on in my head was, 'If I have to leave five films for this one, I will leave them.' Such a powerful script it was," affirmed Singh.

"When people start remembering you through your character's names, what bigger compliment do you want than that? It feels great that my effort of entertaining the audience has accomplished and my work is reaching people," said Vineet excited about him being called Danish Khan.

There is another bright actor, who has made his debut from Gold – Sunny Kaushal. He is overwhelmed to be foraying into the industry with such a film. Sunny had to audition for this film and while he was sleeping, he got a call saying that he has bagged Himmat's role. Talking of Himmat's character, "He is a Sikh boy from a small village in Punjab, and he hails from a family which has seen the independence struggle. He's seen his father being beaten up when he was young. So, he despises the Britishers and wants them to go away from the country. At the same time, he loves hockey and wants to do something for the nation, and his answer to doing something for the nation is playing hockey. He's a very honest guy, who doesn't understand politics, manipulation and is very impulsive. He doesn't know to control his emotions, he's very transparent. It just shows on his face."

Sunny's brother Vicky Kaushal was extremely happy and proud upon learning on his brother's debut film. His action-director father Sham Kaushal advised the actor-in-making to be "honest" and humble in whatever he does.

Celebrating this historic occasion, the makers are all set to release the film on the 15th of August this year. The film has been shot across the UK and India, capturing the fascinating aspects of the pre-independent era. Starring Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal, Gold promises power packed performances by an ensemble cast.

The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, helmed by Reema Kagti and is all set to release on the 15th August 2018.
