Fever outbreak on sets forces chat show host to cancel shoot

Simi Garewal had to cancel the shoot of her show, Simi Selects India's Most Desirables, on Monday after she fell ill. Abhay Deol was slated to be her star guest.

The anchor-producer is suffering from a viral fever and was in no postion to face the camera. The chat show is being filmed at Film City.

Says a source, "Several of her crew members have been falling sick. They all have been suffering from viral infections for the past few days. On Monday, she was afflicted by it and forced to cancel the day's work."

When reached for comment, her spokesperson says, "She is okay now and is feeling much better. She was a bit under the weather on the day of the shoot due to which it to be cancelled."

The spokesperson adds, "The shoot will resume in a day. In fact, she has already started coordinating the fresh dates."

Among the guests that feature on her show for Star World include Freida Pinto, Sonakshi Sinha, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Siddharth Mallya.

Her earlier outing, Rendezvous with Simi began airing from 1997 and had several seasons till 2007. After a decade, it was decided that she devise something distinct for her next outing on television.

But what remains is Simi's inimitable style (of being so very concerned and empathetic!) to make her guests pour their hearts out.
