When Shah Rukh Khan alighted from the Nita and Mukesh Ambani's private jet at New York airport on Thursday afternoon, he mustn't have expected to be detained by immigration officials.
However, his 2009 detention at Newark airport seemed to repeat itself when the actor was asked to step aside to answer some questions. Apparently, the officials interrogated him due to his surname, despite knowing who he is.

The actor was headed to Yale University, where he has been named as a Chubb Fellow, to address the students. Interestingly, Ambanis’ daughter Isha also studies at the same university, where Khan reached two hours late, at about 6 pm, to talk to the students.
Speaking about his delay, he reportedly said, “We were detained at the airport as always. For one and a half hours. It was nice. Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself, I take a trip to America.”
While he made fun of it, the actor was indeed upset with the episode. Apparently, the university officials had to contact the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Department at Washington when they learnt of SRK’s detention. u00a0
