Rajan Khosa's children's film is the only CFSI production to ever enjoy a commercial release
It’s been a rather long wait for Children’s Film Society India (CFSI) — 57 years almost. But as they say, better late than never. Their children’s production Gattu is all set to have a commercial release on July 20.

Looks like Batman will have an unlikely competitor as Christopher Nolan’s superhero blockbuster release in the country on the same day. Interestingly, no other mainstream Bollywood film with big names releases that Friday.u00a0
Ask the director of the film, Rajan Khosa, if this is going to be a rather bold step, he shoots back, “We are in an age where parents take their kids to watch films like Rowdy Rathore, which is not really meant for kids. Besides, every film has its share of audience. And Gattu is more like a family film.”
Incidentally, Nandita Das, the chairperson of CFSI, has been instrumental in releasing this project that was stuck in the pipelines for almost a year. Rajan adds, “She was very helpful, right from the very beginning. Also, she gave me the support and freedom I needed even though my script kept changing.”u00a0
