While gossip mills have been abuzz with rumours about Aditya Roy Kapur reuniting with Shraddha Kapoor for the Hindi remake of a Tamil film, we hear he was recently approached for a project under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s banner. However, the actor is said to have declined the offer since the film has a relatively new director on board.

Says a source, “Aditya had a meeting with the makers to discuss the concept and he showed interest in the project. However, he seemed hesitant when told that the film will be directed by a relatively new director.”

The makers were keen to take the film on floors next year as soon, but are now disappointed about the actor backing out. While Bhansali remained unavailable for comment, Aditya denied the buzz.

A source close to the production house, however, confirms the story and says, “Aditya was interested in the film, but was not sure about working with a new director. After his last film Daawat-e-Ishq (2014) did not do well at box office, he has become wary about signing films; he wants to take it slow.”
