The fashion week may shift to a bigger venue or may have an altogether different venue to hold the grand finale from next year, Fashion Design Council of India president Sunil Sethi told
.
"I regret whatever happened at the finale. The number of people who came to see the finale was beyond our expectations. Some people just hung around so that they could get a free entry to the show. This also led to the rush at the entrance," Sethi said.
Even the media was allowed entry only after two hours of the scheduled time. As the entry was delayed, the crowd at the entry swell. There was a mad rush with people pushing and shoving each other.
An eyewitness, requesting anonymity, said: "It was simply a mess. There were some drunken men who were misbehaving with the people there. I know that grand finale is supposed to be fashionably late but this it is not justified."
Joining issue, a media pro said, "I can understand a delay of half an hour but two hours is just too much. There was just pushing, shouting and madness. I wish things improve next year."
Explaining the delay, Sethi said that the time given to set up the show was very less.
