Wowed by Moscow

Actor Aftab Shivdasani recently visited Moscow and fell madly in love with the place. And he can't stop talking about the city's beautiful architecture, its natural beauty and the general happy vibe of the place. He talks to CS about his recent trip to the city:

Simply wow
Moscow is a beautiful city during the day, but at night, it looks even more lovely. That's when you can see the soul of Moscow. The illuminated architecture of the buildings is gorgeous in the night sky. The Kievskaya Metro Station and the Friendship Park are a must-see, especially from the pedestrian path which crosses the Moscow River. The architecture in Moscow is like no other city in the world. From the Tsar Kolokol (Tsar Bell) to the local churches to the Kremlin -- you can't get enough of the city.

Monastery magic
Unfortunately, I didn't have too much time to visit the places around Moscow, but I did check out the Sergiev Posad, which is one of the most interesting towns in the Moscow region. It is 65 km from the main city. It boasts of the Trinityu00a0- St Sergius Laura grounds which include the biggest Russian monastery. It's an experience like nothing else.

Me time
I went to Moscow to just relax and enjoy. I would have loved to do some adventurous things, but didn't have that kind of time. But in the brief time that I was there, I did manage to enjoy the nightclubs, theaters, restaurants and the old architecture! And of course, I did some shopping too. I picked up the famous painted Russian dolls and a few Russian-style wood paintings.

A word to the wise...
For those visiting Moscow, you must see the monuments and the churches. Enjoy the night scenes and don't be scared to experiment with the food.
